Organizational Growth STIMULATING ORGANIZATIONAL SUCCESS (S.O.S.) ::
Your Organization and the IRS

Whether you're a not-for-profit, a small business or a sole proprietorship, like it or not, you have to interact with the Internal Revenue Service, otherwise known as the IRS, at least once a year. While you may find it hard to believe, the IRS is making a greater effort to be accessible and service-oriented. Their main goal is to make it easier for you to file the right paperwork on time. Below are links to two of the resources the IRS has created to help small businesses (including the self-employed) and not-for-profits understand what's required and how to stay legal.

Small Business Self-Employed Online Classroom
This on-line course offers small business owners several options for learning the basics on their tax obligations.

Life Cycle of a Public Charity
During its existence, a public charity has numerous interactions with the IRS - from filing an application for recognition of tax-exempt status, to filing the required annual information returns, to making changes in its mission and purpose. The IRS provides information, explanations, guides, forms and publications on all of these subjects - they are available through this IRS Web site.
